During the consultation process for disaster impact assessments in Jeju Island, it is recommended to estimate probable precipitation by constructing isohyets that reflect elevation, in order to account for the region's unique hydrological and geological characteristics. However, considering the high density of weather observation stations in Jeju and the fact that most development sites are small in scale (less than 50,000 m²) and located below 200 meters above sea level, it is considered reasonable to apply the probable precipitation values from nearby rainfall stations or use conventional methods such as the Thiessen polygon method for flood discharge estimation. A previous study (Cho, 2024) has already compared and analyzed the probable precipitation values derived from typical rainfall stations and those estimated using isohyets under the pre-disaster impact assessment system in Jeju. Nevertheless, further research is required on flood discharge estimation based on these findings. Therefore, this study compares and analyzes flood discharge estimates derived from probable precipitation values obtained through rainfall stations and isohyetal methods to evaluate their influence.
