Due to the global impact of climate change, including increased heavy rainfall and rainfall intensity, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety amended the Natural Disaster Countermeasures Act in 2013 to require local governments to establish stormwater runoff mitigation measures considering regional characteristics. Currently, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province has established stormwater runoff mitigation measures based on the amended Natural Disaster Countermeasures Act, taking preventive measures to mitigate urban flooding and other damages. However, since the flood calculation for stormwater runoff mitigation measures is based on the guidelines provided by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, it is necessary to reconsider the most appropriate method for flood calculation applicable to Jeju Island. Therefore, in this study, a comparative analysis was conducted between the flood calculation methods outlined in the stormwater runoff mitigation measure guidelines and those in the Disaster Impact Assessment Practical Guidelines to evaluate the appropriateness of the flood calculation method.
